That'll do, Pig...

(or alternatively titled "Blow it out your @ss, Cat.")

The Hazelwood Parents' Visit has come to a close and a good time was had by all... Highlights included:

(1) Them arriving to temperatures in the upper 70s/lower 80s when it was snowing/sleeting back in Wisconsin.
(2) An extra-large special delivery of our very most favorite WI cheeses (in case anyone was wondering: all from Brennans: Muenster, Onion Brick, Cheddar Blue, and Baby Swiss), two 6-packs of Capital Amber, and two 6-packs of Spotted Cow.
(3) 4 games of Hand-and-Foot, in which Becci and whomever was lucky enough to be her partner won EVERY TIME.
(4) The requisite experience of several of our most "favorite" North Carolina novelties including The Biggest Harris Teeter Ever! and basement hoppy-bugs.
(5) Grandpa/Dad Hazelwood purchasing a dinosaur bone for Ernie (hopefully it will last until the next trip).

All in all - it was a really nice visit, we are so grateful for all their generosity, and we were sad to see them go. Ernie protested their departure by being a devil-dog for the remainder of the day and has been threatened (to no effect) that he better shape up or we'll ship him out to the Ranch for Bad Puppies.

In other notable news:
(1) The State of North Carolina DOES sell scratch-off lottery tickets. I was so excited that I bought $5 worth and won.... NOTHING. Yep, another point for North Carolina.
(2) I've accepted a job with the University of North Carolina - Greensboro's Department of Biology so both Becci and I can both be servants to the Great State of North Carolina. More details on all that to come.

Addendum: Just an FYI for anyone planning a jaunt to visit the d*mn yankees at 1813 Rolling Road - We could not have asked for a better trip.
-The weather was terrific (and yes - it was a bonus that the weather in WI was so lousy - I DO NOT know how they H&B arranged that ...)
-The southern hospitality warm and friendly
-The airport pickup and drop off very convenient (no tipping required)
-The food delicious and nutritious
-The puppy adorable
-The accomodations deluxe
-The Harris Teeter pretty much as described, and
-The card playing rigged favoring the hosts
Yes, a good time was had by all.
My only complaint - I wish you lived closer.
Love, Mom and Dad Hazelwood

When Jacque and I visited Sauk, we whooped up on mom and dad at Hand and foot too. I dont think they are as good as they think they are.
