I recently said, "I use this exit becuase I park by Walker Deck."

(posted by Heather)

Northern translation: "I use this exit because I park in the Walker Ramp."

Am I becoming a little bit Southern or am I just giving in and getting better about choosing my battles? It's either an "I tell you what" or a "You never know" situation... Regardless - it's a very good thing that I'll be back in Wisconsin for a visit in less than 2 weeks to re-up my Northern-ness.

But - the main purpose of this post is to "show off" how I'm trying to maintain my car's Northern pride...

You see, the Great State of North Carolina only issues a back plate for cars. Even though it costs hundreds of dollars EVERY YEAR to register your vehicle - they can apparently only afford to offer you a back plate.

So - since my car is used to having 2 plates I needed to figure out what to do. Becci suggested just leaving my WI tag on the front - which was a fine idea (although most likely illegal) until I started to do some internet research. You see - there are a great many vanity front plates available to the interested consumer. Some of the "finer" ones are even available at the DMV License Plate office (no joke) which doubles as a Trailer Park Reception Area (joke but not far from the truth). Becci and my personal favorite is "I love my church"(no joke).

I had hoped for an old-skool "Escape to Wisconsin"plate (like the old bumper sticker) but no luck. Then I found something that might be even better...

The way it was:

And, now - the way it is... And, of course - the back plate too...

PS: Sunday's high temp was 72 degrees. Monday's predicted high is 71 degrees.
