If a magnet can pick up a pin, then gravity MUST NOT exist in our dimension...

That's an actual "Overheard in UNCG Dept of Biology's Lunchroom." It was followed by an explanation of a theory that there are 11 dimensions... Excellent, eh? Or, maybe my more appropriate response, "huh?"

There seems to be mounting evidence that there ARE 11 dimensions! I'm reading The Elegant Universe right now, and it's fantastic. And as for gravity, according to Einstein, it's not so much a force as the actual warping of space and time. Crazy. You should totally read TEU and then casually ask your coworkers, "Hey y'all, what's your favorite neutrino flavor?"
